My top three fantasy book series
My top three fantasy book series
Many children all around the world hungrily devour fantasy novels, investing their time and energy into these worlds. I also dive into the realm of the fantastic, often choosing entire series, with a quantity of depth and length pulling me into the mysterious and often wonderful stories. While the majority of the books I read are very enjoyable, there are just some books that stand out. They are simply enchanting, and mesmerising. Recently, I found that three book series that I read suit my taste perfectly. Warning, spoilers ahead.
The Twilight saga
The Twilight saga is one of them. The twilight saga is one of the book series that are most loved by tennagers in the U.S. This is part fantasy and part romance that is consisted of four books. The main character, Bella, who is the narrator of the book, falls in love with a vampire called Edward Cullen in school. Bella and Edward have difficulties but they manage to overcome them and get married. They even give birth to a child. However, the Volturi, the ones who enforce the laws on vampires, find that the child would be a threat to the vampire society. They eventually leave when the Cullens provide evidence for the child’s biological creation. Since the release of the first novel, Twilight, in 2005, the books have gained immense popularity and commercial success around the world. The series is most popular among young adults; the four books have won multiple awards, most notably the 2008 British Book Award for "Children's Book of the Year" for Breaking Dawn, while the series as a whole won the 2009 Kids' Choice Award for Favorite Book.
The Harry Potter series
Harry Potter is another of my favorites. This is the most famous fantasy book series in the world, featuring the main character, Harry and his friends attending a school of magic, Hogwarts. This series has seven books and Harry encounters the villain, Voldemort countless times, both in person and by another figure. However, every time he is close to death, he manages to escape. From the sixth book, Harry starts to hunt down horcruxes which are the only way to defeat Lord Voldemort. After suffering through countless losses, Harry and his friends destroy all the horcruxes and defeats Voldemort at last. Since the release of the first novel, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, on 26 June 1997, the books have found immense popularity, critical acclaim and commercial success worldwide. They have attracted a wide adult audience as well as younger readers, and are often considered cornerstones of modern young adult literature.
The Lunar chronicles
The last one is probably my favorite. It may not be as famous as The Harry Potter series or the Twilight Saga but it is the best book series I have ever read. The Lunar Chronicles is a book series with a genre of fantasy, science fiction, and romance. It is made of six books. They are all mainly based on fairytales. The first one, Cinder is based on Cinderella, The second, Scarlet is based on Little red riding hood, the third, Cress is based on Rapunzel, the fourth, fairest is the evil queen’s story, Winter is based on Snow White and the last, Stars above is about the main characters’ pasts. In this book series, it is the future in which androids work as people’s servants and people from the moon, lunars can control people’s brainwaves and force them to do and think everything they want. Cinder, a cyborg and the rightful heir to luna, holds a rebellion against the evil queen, Levana with her friends. She eventually succeeds in killing Levana and claims the throne of luna. The first book, Cinder hit The New York Times best-seller list for children’s chapter books in its first week.
